yep yep yep

student teaching began last wednesday and i am already tired of getting up at 5:30. i do love the variety of classes: accelerated sophomores, juniors, junior plus (remedial), and lit and film. it is the last class that excites me the most. while it will be fun to teach the great gatsby, huck finn, and to kill a mockingbird, lit and film allows me to teach something that never gets enough attention, a film that set a precedent for an unknown to write,  and star in a motion picture that would turn into a pivotal piece of cinema leading to 5 sequels.

i am, of course, talking about ROCKY. take a moment to bask in its glory:

i cannot express my excitement in words so i must stop here and run outside to a large set of steps, climb them, and raise my arms in exultation as i reach the top, all the while humming “eye of the tiger.”
